Yawn.

Sorry, I was sleeping again.

It is not a simple matter to awaken and become aware.

We all have to deal with the realities of this world, such as the mortgage, the kids, the car payments, credit card payments, and the grocery bills.

So, how does one remain awake and aware? How does one hack this reality to get at the truth?

Maybe the answer can be found in what Plato was able to convey to Aristotle:

Aristotle: "Master, I must know truth!"

Plato: "Then follow me."

And Plato lead Aristotle to a nearby fountain in the midst of the garden. Without saying a word, Plato grabbed his student by the throat and shoved Aristotle's face under the water.

Now, Aristotle knew his master to be a kind and wise man who would not cause harm to anyone; so, it was only a matter of time before his teacher would release his grip.

However, a minute later, Aristotle was still under the water in the fountain.

Two minutes later, Plato was still holding his student's face under water as Aristotle began wriggling and splashing. At this point, Plato leaned over his student, placing all of his weight on Aristotle as he struggled to free himself from his master's grip.

Three minutes later, as he was beginning to lose consciousness, Aristotle used both of his legs to kick against the fountain with all his might, sending the pair sprawling.

Aristotle: (coughing and sputtering) "Master? Why......"

Plato: "When you yearn for truth as you desire air, then we are ready to begin."

"And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall set you free." John 8:32

A desire for truth leads one to seek freedom. When we are awake and aware to the truth, we begin to develop a need to be free.

What do I mean by freedom?
